Florence Williamena Hare is the town Postmistress. Every day, she totes her hefty bag of mail around town, dropping off letters and parcels with a few minutes of chit chat. With so many friends around the country and the world sending their greetings, Florence often has to upgrade from mailbag to her heavy-duty push cart. Even then she has to make several trips. But it is worth the effort; everyone is so delighted to hear from friends and family afar.
When she's lucky, as she passes out the mail, she'll receive a stamp or two saved for her from previous deliveries. To Florence, they are like little works of art; some of them certainly worthy of a spot on the wall. She spends her evenings tucked in her warren with a fire roaring and some twangy music playing on the radio while she carefully de-glues each stamp, cataloguing and critiquing as she goes. Every now and again she smiles, setting one aside and thinking of the perfect frame.
