A while back, at Henry Gossamer Opossum's bookshop, Wonderlust, I found a book of short stories by EM Forster. They are all wonderful little reads, but it was the inscription that really struck a chord: 'Only Connect'.
That's what we're all here for, isn't it? To connect more deeply with others and, in the process, understand and connect more deeply with ourselves? In believing so, step-stoning to a line of stationery, a product that in itself fosters relationships, seemed natural. Adding to that, I hope that the whimsical characters featured on Le Canot Rouge products help connect consumers to animals and their habitat, albeit in a charming, lighthearted way.
I draw these little guys as totems for those that have galvanized my life. The corresponding quirky stories may not be wholly accurate, but memory is a funny thing that way... |
